ADVENTIST CHURCH LEADERS MOURN WITH GHANA’S VICE PRESIDENT

Adventist Church leaders on September 21, 2021 visited the Vice President of Ghana, H.E Mahamudu Bawumia to console him on death of his mother, which occurred on September 13, 2021.

“We were surprised by the news of the demise of your mother and are here on behalf of the Church to console you, pray for your and to share with you the hope that transcends the grave. Because your mother believed in God and Issah, we are sure you will see her again on the resurrection day,” said Pastor Thomas Techie Ocran, President of the Southern Ghana Union, who led the delegation.

The Vice President told the delegation that his mother died after a short illness and it has not been easy and the visit is a source of comfort. “Your coming here gives me a lot of comfort and it gives me a lot of encouragement and I thank you for it,” the Vice President said.

The delegation sang the song “Oh God our help in ages past, our hope for years to come” for the H.E. Bawumia to precede a prayer by the Ministerial Secretary of the Southern Ghana Union Conference, Pastor Nii Lante Thompson. He prayed for comfort and strength for the VP, prayed for his family members, members of his working team.
“…Father, I pray that you will comfort him and strengthen him that you will guide and direct him and fulfil your promises in his life that he will live to see your hands at work in his life. May the blessings that you bestow upon him overflow to his team. We commit his family into your hands, may your hands protect and provide for them. We commit your servant into your hands, bless his work, bless his family and through him, bless this nation,” Pastor Thompson prayed.
The West-Central Africa Division Communication and Public Affairs and Religious Liberty (PARL) Director, Elder Louis Bakari presented to the Vice President the book Beyond Death’s Door: The Hope for Reunion by William Gerald. Fifty packs of Valley Life bottled water was also donated on behalf of the Church.

Other members of the delegation included the Executive Secretary, Pastor Chris Annan Nunoo, The Treasurer, Pastor Bright Osei Yeboah, Ministerial Secretary, Pastor Nii Lante Thompson, the Director of Communication, Public Affairs and Religious Liberty, Dr Solace Asafo and the Associate Director, Mrs. Mimonte Dorcas Odonkor.
