The West Sahel Union Mission president, Pastor David Njock, visited the Islands of the Cabo Verde Conference on Monday, July 15, 2024.

It was in a joyfully atmosphere that the Explorers’ Club welcomed Pastor David Njock at Amílcar Cabral International Airport with the national anthem of Cabo Verde, on the island of Sal, accompanied by the President of the Cabo Verde conference, Pastor Natalino Martins.
The honors were presented by the Explorers’ Club, which also welcomed the distinguished visitor to the island. This visit is part of the Union administrators' vision to establish churches throughout the Union's territory. It is therefore in this perspective that the WSUM President decided to visit the three northern islands of Cabo Verde with the aim of setting up a commission whose work will lead to the creation of the Barlavento Mission.
The members of the visited islands – S. Vicente, Sal, and Santo Antão – attentively followed the plans and strategies developed for the development and consolidation of the Adventist message in the region. After discussions between the Union and Conference administrators, an eleven-member commission was formed to prepare for the creation of the Barlavento Mission in Cabo Verde.

According to Pastor Gervásio Camulungo, "This visit reflects the commitment between the West Sahel Union Mission and the Cabo Verde Conference. These two entities, of course, work for the spiritual development of their members but also to establish strategies that will allow with determination the proclamation of the Adventist message in the Barlavento islands."
