YAOUNDÉ, CAMEROON — The Executive Secretary of the General Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Richard E. McEdward, arrived in Yaoundé early this afternoon to participate in the Secretariat Council organized by the West-Central Africa Division (WAD).
This important gathering brings together secretariat leaders from the thirteen unions within the WAD to discuss strategic issues related to mission, church administration, and the strengthening of ecclesiastical management systems across the West and Central African territory.
Upon his arrival at the Yaoundé-Nsimalen International Airport, Dr. McEdward received a warm and enthusiastic welcome from church members, administrative leaders, as well as a large group of Adventist Youth (AY) and women who came to welcome him in Cameroon.

Songs, smiles, and expressions of joy marked this fraternal reception, reflecting the significance of this visit for the Adventist Church in the region. Several WAD leaders and union officials were also present to welcome the General Conference Executive Secretary.
The Secretariat Council serves as a major platform for exchange and training for executive secretaries and their teams. Participants will examine current administrative challenges, strategies for preserving church records, mission monitoring, and leadership development in support of evangelism.
The presence of Richard E. McEdward in Yaoundé underscores the importance the General Conference places on supporting and accompanying the unions of the West-Central Africa Division in fulfilling the gospel mission.
